Improving lives of farmers through inclusive agricultural transformation
ADAPT (Analytics for Decision making and Agricultural Policy Transformation) is a three-year program executed under a partnership between the Government of Odisha, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Samagra Development Associates. ADAPT aims to enhance farmer prosperity by enabling Odisha into becoming the leading state in the use of data and technology in governance. They key objectives of the program are:
Hectares of cultivated land
Streamlining planning, production and distribution activities of the state seed system through higher visibility of information.
Optimizing existing irrigation capacity and precisely expanding irrigation facilities through co-ordination with multiple departments.
Strengthening farmer-market linkages by working closely with the on-ground field staff to improve marketable surplus estimations.
Strengthening the on-ground state extension network by streamlining staffing and developing optimal worker allocation.
