Vocational Training Institute in collaboration with the Ministry of Textiles, to provide six month to one year diploma courses to rural youth, followed by middle management level jobs in the textile industry.
Mega Job Fair in collaboration with 5 universities in Sirsa, for which 20 reputed companies across 5 sectors – BPO, Pharmaceuticals, Real Estate, Software and Healthcare – came for recruitment. More than 4000 youth from across the constituency participated.
Skill development centre to provide short duration ‘machine operator’, ‘quality checker’, and ‘surface ornamentation’ courses to rural youth, followed by entry level placement in the organized sector. The centre, equipped with industrial machines, has trained around 250 youth since its inception.
Augmentation of health infrastructure in around 60 villages of the constituency by providing free primary health services through two Mobile Medical Units (MMUs). Each of these fully equipped MMUs covers 1-2 villages in a day, repeating its route every month.
Assessment of more than 700 differently-abled people across the constituency, followed by distribution of around 300 aids and appliances. The equipment distributed as part of the initiative included tricycles, wheel chairs, blind sticks, hearing aids, cervical collars and crutches amongst others.
Augmentation of science teaching in Government schools by facilitating learning of science concepts through hands-on experience on 180+ working models, under the guidance of trained instructors. A mini-bus, comprising of these models and two instructors, covers one school every day repeating its route monthly, exposing more than 4000 students across 25 schools to this innovative pedagogy.
